Technology has forever changed the way we connect with each other. Social media has changed the way we consume and share information. As experts in learning, these social media tools have made us aware of and interested in leveraging what is being called “social learning.” If social media can bring together and form communities of like-minded people, why can’t we connect learners using the same types of social media tools? So, what is “social learning” and how can we get started? This session will focus on the impact of social media, definitions of learning formats, building of learning communities and common social media tools that can be leveraged for learning.
