Carolyn’s formal education in communications, graphic design and writing, 20 years of experience in instructional design, and 30 years of experience in the legal industry make her a powerhouse as a consultant. Carolyn uses proven change management methodologies and adult learning theories to help people learn new skills and change behaviors. Her education and experience enable her to provide the expertise clients need to positively affect the behavior of people and cultivate a culture of learning and change.
Co-recipient of the ILTA 2016 Consultant of the Year award for her role as co-architect of the Traveling Coaches Certified Legal Trainer Program, Carolyn has helped over 70 law firm trainers elevate their individual performance.

With a doctorate from Teachers College, Columbia University, and over 20 years working in her firm, icoachidesign, she integrates her deep knowledge of instructional design, Accelerated Learning techniques, coaching, facilitation, and visuals into her suite of offerings. Her expertise, used in all areas of her work—facilitation, coaching and training —lies in co-creating professional development experiences through a visualizing process that includes deep learning about who is to be served, listening for the needs to be met, understanding the environment in which people work and the criteria for success, and the creation of processes and artifacts to support the process. She is certified as an Appreciative Inquiry facilitator and is the US member of the Bikablo® Certified Global Training Team.
